L.A. Baltic Sun (1983-2006) frozen semen is available for domestic and/or export use. It was collected and frozen under quarantine conditions when he was in the prime of his life. L.A. Baltic Sun has a long list of winning get both in Dressage and in the Hunter/Jumper arenas. He is the sire of 3 approved stallions and a diploma mare and he was the the only North American approved SWB stallion to be awarded Premium A breeding status by the Swedish Warmblood Association. He placed number 10 on the SOBA Leading Dressage Sire's list of more than 1200 stallions in 1997. Winner of numerous USEF and USDF Awards from 1st Level through the F.E.I. Levels, L.A. Baltic Sun competed through Grand Prix dressage. L.A. Baltic Sun is the sire of 3 approved SWB stallions, L.A. Baltic Inspiration (foaled 1991 out of L.A. Utrilla), L.A. Baltic Sundance (foaled 1989 out of L.A. Rose Of Sweden), and L.A. Baltic Sunrise (foaled 1990 out of L.A. Rose Of Sweden). All of these stallions competed through the Grand Prix levels of dressage or jumping and have earned numerous USDF All Breed Awards. L.A. Baltic Inspiration, a Grand Prix Show Jumper, also competed through Prix St. Georges dressage and was finishing the work of Grand Prix dressage when he injured himself and was retired from showing. In addition to siring 3 approved sons, L.A. Baltic Sun also sired the diploma mare, Hestia (x Athena). L.A. Baltic Sun was himself the Young Horse Champion of Dressage at Devon in 1986, and he went on to sire six winning Breeders Groups of Dressage at Devon. That is more than any other stallion of any breed ever sired! This was especially impressive because his offspring in the beginning were limited to only the offspring of the two Swedish fillies, Rose of Sweden and L.A. Utrilla, both of which went on to be granted Premium Elite status as broodmares (see Foundation Mares). Breeders Groups consist of two or three of the best horses bred by any one breeder and do not have to be related at all. However, as a very small breeder, Los Alamos Dressage Center was producing only two foals a year - both by "Sun" and whatever hit the ground became our entries. The proof of this good breeding became evident and famous as the offspring of L.A. Baltic Sun never failed to place in the top of their classes at Dressage at Devon (as well as other shows) and many went on to win major championships both in hand and under saddle. Frozen semen is available and L.A. Baltic Sun continues to serve as an outcross for the popular "Utrillo" line of SWB horses since he has no Utrillo blood in his pedigree.
