Earning numerous U.S. Equestrian Federation (USEF) and U.S. Dressage Federation (USDF) High Score Year End awards at all levels of dressage from Training Level through Grand Prix, Gail continues to train horses and students according to the same high standards. She goes regularly to Europe to study judging and training. Several students have been coached by her to earn USDF Bronze, Silver and Gold Medals and she serves as a judge and clinician throughout North and South America. Gail also presents educational seminars to interested groups.
Horse breeding is another area of interest and success for Gail. Having bred many Arabian horses in the past that went on to compete and win numerous championships in both halter and performance at the National level, Gail has since turned her talents to include European Warmbloods.
Her success with the Swedish Warmblood horse breeding program is no less impressive. Gail has bred three licensed Swedish Warmblood stallions and a mare who received diplomas for both dressage and jumping ability. Her horses have won numerous USEF Regional and National High Score Horse of the Year awards. In addition, many have won at the prestigious "Devon Horse Show" (Hunter/Jumper and Open Show) and “Dressage At Devon” (the largest and most prestigious breed show in North America) as well as the International Jumper Futurity Championships. At "Dressage At Devon," Los Alamos bred horses, in addition to having won numerous top 10 Awards, also won the "American Breeder's Award" (horse best representing the ideals of Sport Horse Breeding in the USA, won by L.A. Baltic Inspiration), the most "Breeders Group" awards ever won by a single stallion over the years (L.A. Baltic Sun), numerous championships in hand, and "Suitability for Dressage" classes under saddle.
In addition to her knowledge and experience in dressage, Gail has a strong scientific background, having earned a B.S. in Animal Science and Pre-Veterinary Medicine, an M.S. in Zoology, and a Ph.D. in Immunology. Listed in "Who's Who", "Who's Who of American Women," and "Who's Who of Technology Today as well as "American Men and Women of Science" and the "American Biographical Institute International Biographical Center" for inventions and contributions to diagnostic medicine (such as the "Mono Test", a 2 minute blood test for Infectious Mononucleosis). In 1982, Dr. Hoff-Carmona retired as Director of Research and Development at a diagnostics company to pursue her interest in horses. Consequently, Los Alamos Dressage Center is managed from a sound scientific and managerial basis and as director of Los Alamos Dressage Center, Gail is also recorded in the National Registry of Who's Who and she received two Proclamation citations from the New Jersey State Assembly and Governor Whitman for civic work done at Los Alamos Dressage Center when located in Freehold, NJ.
